Rastamouse
Unless you have all been hiding under a rock for the last couple of weeks but a new cartoon phenomenon is out. Back when I was at uni, it was all about Tellytubbies. Hungover students walking around shouting 'eh oh' at each other in the street, looking like utter twats. The kids liked it too.
Now we have something new, something way better. Something I wish existed when I was a kid.

Black Swan
I often go to the movies by myself, I have no issue with sitting in a cinema by todd. I probably get more annoyed with people that scan the whole area and decide the only seats they want to sit in are the ones right next to me. In an almost empty cinema?!?
Anyway, gripes aside, the last movie I went to see was Black Swan.
If I want to watch soft porn, forget using the internet, just go see this film.
Now, it is a bit harsh of me, the last time I was that critical of a film, I compared SATC2 to my PMT. The film was shit.
Black Swan is interesting because this is what happens when a great director gets too much money. The sets, the dancers, the music all beautiful. But this all gets lost in the over sexed, titillation of the film.
Its plot revolves around a production of Swan Lake by a prestigious New York City ballet company. As is usual with all productions of the ballet, the production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. One dancer, Nina (Portman), is a perfect fit for the White Swan, while Lily (Kunis) has a personality that matches the Black Swan. When the two compete for the parts, Nina finds a dark side to herself
I have to give credit to Portman and Kunis, their dancing is phenomenal. Aronofsky usually takes a plot and goes to a really dark and real place. But this film loses all the plot and becomes a soft porn movie at times. It is not at all as scary as it could be or as we know Aronofsky is capable of.
It looks pretty but that is all for me. Its a shame that the director had to lose himself a little before others noticed his talent. I hope he wins some awards. But this is not one of his best.
