The Woman

Going through a retro-review stage at the moment, thanks to Netflix!  So enjoy!

A sadistic small town lawyer captures a feral woman from his local woods and decides to “civilise” her with the help of his unhinged family.

I think you can expect what happens in this film, a man (very much the man of the house too) spies a feral woman when he goes hunting one night.  He doesn’t see her as a woman, but as a sexual beast that needs taming.  He hatches a plan to capture her and imprison her in his home.  He get his family to participate in the imprisoning, forcing a big divide in the household.  Father and Son both think and act the same, horrid warped views of women in general.  Mother and Daughter both unable to speak out, oppressed by the patriarch and going along with his disgusting plans.

It’s easy to predict what is going to happen off the bat, I knew in the first 5 minutes how this was going to go and felt like I had seen it before.  It was predictable and a bit cheap.  None of the gore was particularly original, casting rather poor although I did like the woman who played The Woman herself.

It could have been so much better and scarier I think but have enough originality to keep me riveted. Can take or leave this one.  It was certainly an improvement from What to Expect When You’re Expecting (I chose The Woman as it was completely opposite to WTEWYE).

What to Expect When You’re Expecting

Lots of couples expecting a baby and how they deal with their relationships during the 9 month gestation period.  Starring Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Matthew Morrison, Elizabeth Banks and Chace Crawford.

Quite possibly the worst film I have ever seen.  90 minutes of crap jokes, terrible pregnancy acting and rubbish script.  It was a lot of pretty people looking great while pregnant.
The only thing I got out of the film was the chance to stare lovingly at Chace Crawford for all of the 10 minutes of his appearance in the film.

Don’t waste time on this one.  I hate Netflix for even suggesting it to me.
